So the story starts about November/December 2015, when I got a call saying my current contract had run up and they could offer me an update to my contract to get it cheaper.
Essentially they were moving me on to a SIM only contract to save me some money. I told them at the time that I would have upgraded by now, but I was waiting for the LG G5 as it had my interest and it was due out in Feb/Mar 2016. No worries, I can upgrade after three months anyway with no repercussions. Cool, that sounds excellent, let's go.
When I was in store getting my LG G5 in March 2016 nothing was mentioned of the SIM Only contract I had moved to and as far as I am aware, the contract I signed is the usual 24 month one.
Fast forward to now, and things in LG G5 land aren't so rosy and I was looking forward to getting rid of my phone early next year, or maybe even buying my contract out now. I went on to check how long I have and it tells me my contract runs until June 2019 and I can only upgrade in Aprl 2019.
I went in store and the guy there explained it was because my SIM Only contract was being rolled onto my contract so it was an extra 9 months, but this doesn't even add up as it should be the end of 2018 not June 2019.
I have worked all week so not had a chance to call yet, but I did try a live chat while working and got told quite rudely that I had definitely been told all the terms and condidions.
I will have a real look over my contract tomorrow, but do I have any rights to sort this out or am I lumped with an extraordinarily wrong contract and a phone I am unhappy with.
Thanks for any help folks!
