Voicemail Quality

The voicemail quality on my iphone4s is always heavily distorted, to the point of not being able to decipher most of the message. Signal quality is excellent & 'live' calls are very good.
Does anyone else have this problem & is there a solution?

This isn’t something I’ve ever seen before.

If you put your SIM in another phone and listen to voicemail, do you get the same issue?
