Still havnt got wi fi calling on my s8 despite several online chats with Vodafone.

The option for wi fi calling dissapared about 3 weeks ago.

Can anyone help?

Took the phone out to specifically have wi fi calling.

Will have to cancel my contract on the grounds of not having the service I signed up to if it can' be sorted.

Thanks

Hi @BigNorm

Sorry for asking but I assume youve followed the online help support page for setting it up via taxing calling to the shortcode etc and you have gone into your myvodafone and toggled it on.

As for cancelling your contract you can without an Early Termination Fee being applied as long as your within the 30 days network satisfaction guarantee.

Thanks for your reply. Yes I've tried all the steps on the Vodafone site. Was in hold for ages earlier and they were 100% confident it was done. Told me to take my sim out and put back etc.

Nothing has worked.

I am outside of my 30 day period but have taken advice about it as I need wi fi calling for work

There are quite a few threads on this subject so performing a search on the forum may yield further results.

If your out of your 30 days then as far as im aware you wont be able to cancel the account without an Early Termination Fee.

As long as Vodafone are providing signal somewhere then they are fulfilling their obligations to the contract.

Calling Over WiFi is an added feature product but is not part of your contract.

Another option is the Sure Signal Device.

@BigNorm I'm sorry to hear that you've still not got your Wi-Fi calling enabled. This option is definitely available on the S8 on the following plans:

  • Pay monthly Red Extra
  • Red Entertainment
  • Red or Red Value
  • Red+
  • Business Value
  • Business Extra
  • Business Premier
  • Business Black

You'll also need to make sure you have the latest software on your phone too. To update your software, go to Settings > About device > Software update > Update now.

So we can investigate further for you, I've sent you a private message with details on how to get in touch.

I had simular issues with my Note8. Even after having wifi-calling enabled several times with different advisers, toggling the account switch online and sending texts to activate there was still no option in my call settings.

Eventually I spoke to technical support and it appears there was an issue with the OTA update text being stuck in a queue on the server. After this was refreshed a settings update came through and it now works fine. . the option is there.

Go through to tech support. I tried several advisers on 191 and they were not very helpful. Tech support sorted it within minutes. .

Good luck.

I was told in the past by two different sources from Vodafone, including their website, that wifi calling can only be done if you have one of the phone's on the wifi calling list and the phone has to be supplied to you directly from Vodafone....however, saying that, I have wifi calling in my iPhone 6s which was NOT purchased through Vodafone....so conflicting information all round.

Why the phones don't come with this option activated is beyond me !!!
