activation dates

hi can anyone tell me if it's normal for vodaphones support to lie to you 3 times I've live chated and once over the phone and asked for the activation date to be changed and each time I've been told they done it for me and then another letter or email comes with the old date on and each time I phone or live chat I'm told that it's not been changed why on earth I'm I being misslead
