Is there an explanation for iPhone 6 screens cracking without having been dropped or experiencing any impact?

Was just holding the phone in my hand and it cracked!?!?!

Not unless you have a resident poltergeist. :smileysurprised:

There have been reports of screens cracking for no logical reason and if you visit an Apple store they will take a look at it for you and tell you what you options are. They have been known to replace screens in cases such as your free of charge.

Poltergeist - now that would be interesting!  My phone was already scheduled to be returned to Vodafone due to issues with the speaker (only had it 5 weeks) and in between having logged for it to be returned and it being collected, this happened! I explained it to them on the phone but they have still charged me for it being damaged - but I didn't do anything to damage it!!

Unfortunately proving this is going to be very difficult.

I'm discovering this - they are very reluctant to waive the charge of £234 - but I cannot justiy paying this when I haven't caused any damage to the device.  I would suggest that the device sent to me wasn't fit for purpose!

I would suggest then perhaps writing to Vodafone to put your case across.

If Vodafone are asking that money for the screen repair alone I would decline their 'generous' offer and take it to Apple for replacement

I also thought £234 was ridiculous - thank you for the address to write to.  I'm very disappointed at the time it's taking to resolve the issue and am grateful for your suggestions.

If you check the link I added  charge less than that to replace the screen unless the charge includes other repairs.

Been waiting over 48 hours now for a return phone call to resolve the matter - had to ring them back and was on the phone for 15 mins and hadn't even discussed it - just gave my security details and put on hold. After a 20 minute phone call, i'm not told that the manager will ring me back again!! Think the only solution is to discuss with trading standards.  In addition, of the 5 lines I have with Vodafone, 3 of them are playing up i.e - dropping calls, connecting but can't hear the other person/they can't hear me - paying for 4G and not even had 3G for the past 3 days.  Checked online for network coverage - no issues in the area??  Have to question whether this is due to the £234 that i'm refusing to pay?  Just waiting now for them to cut me off!!  So disappointed in Voda - had expected better than this from such a large provider!
