iPhone 7 plus order more information?

I ordered my upgrade to the iPhone 7 plus on Friday evening (9th Sep). Straight away I got a "Your upgrade request" and "Your SIM swap" emails but nothing else. 

 

Order tracker says "

Confirmation
Your order has been accepted.We've placed your order."
 
But there's no more information than that. I'd just like to know when I'm likely to recieve it? Obviously it would be nice if it's Friday but if it's going to be a longer wait, that's fine but I'd like to know that it's going to be longer and roughly how long? 

In the past I've usually ordered direct from Apple so I'm not used to this "order goes into black hole" approach

The only information we can give at this point is that you will receive an update a day or two before your delivery.

Everyone really needs to relax a bit.

 

The Vodafone Tech Team know nothing more than on the tracker they point you to.

 

When a phone order is allocated for delivery people will receive and email or text giving the details of the delivery. Until then all these messages are really futile as until the phones that Vodafone receive are allocated nobody is going to be able to give you details on individual orders.

 

Trsut me, if you do not get your phone tomorrow the earth will continue to spin and life will go on as normal.

Just to say that i ordered my iphone on Friday the 9th and had no confirmation and since i have my doubts in vodafone i pestered them all day as to where my confirmation was and they assured me that it had been ordered. Eventually on Saturday morning i contacted them again and they admitted that it hadnt been ordered correctly, I then had to do the whole process again and i have now got my confirmation and i am hoping for a launch day delivery:).

I don't think any Vodafone employee can predict the exact delivery date of the iPhone. It all depends on stock levels and the number of people ordered. I don't think the costumer care employees and the Vodafone employees we chat with could have access to the central database. They can only read out what was written on the log whilst access your details.

Sure; but I had expected something like "Delivery on 16th September", or "Delivery expected in 1-2 weeks" or "Delivery expected in 5-6" weeks - or whatever it happens to be. 


But to just have - absolutely nothing - expected to wait with zero information until the day before my phone is due to arrive - that's exceptionally poor when I'm spending well over £1,000.

Thjat just says to check the tracker and the tracker hasn't moved in 6 days!  I've had much better response from the telephone CS team.  They have given me a 100% guarantee that the phone will be delivered tomorrow.  So why not update the tracker?

Why even post this. The reason there's so many complaints in here is because the order tracker is useless and tells us nothing!

I agree with the above. If your order tracker says 'we've placed your order' then it's working fine and its up to date. The tracker won't change until DPD collect the handsets from the depot tonight, that's just the way it is. It works that way every year. There's nothing wrong with the tracker.
The staff on the phone cannot give 100% promises they just can't. Neither can the forum staff. It's not because they're stupid or incompetent it's just because they have no control over how much stock apple send out.

The only obvious mess up is that some people seem to have an old phones showing to be delivered at old addresses. That's the sort of thing the guys on the phone should be sorting.

Please stop asking people to check the tracker. THE TRACKER IS BROKEN. 

Here's a screenshot of the order tracking of my S7 Edge ordered on 24th Feb (was delivered on 8th Mar), as you can see, ITS STILL STUCK ON STAGE 2. So yeah, the tracker doesn't update for most people and gets stuck in stage 2 forever.
