new phone.....new sim......no signal???

i have just recieved my new htc wildfire phone from my insurance company......i have put my simcard in (new from vodaphone on contract) and it has no signal?
my husbands phone is vodaphone, in the same house and does have signal???
do i have to regester my phone?
or is there anything i can do?

As you have received a new SIM can I ask if you have had this activated with your old number and had your account reactivated?

I am having the same problem , I have a new simcard and new phone but with the same number , I was on the phone to vodafone yesterday trying to activate it and both my phone's cut off and I haven't had signal since?

Hi, it can take 24.hours for a sim swap, try turning your phone off for 20 minutes.

I always go to a shop for a sim swap as its normally up and running before you leave.
