I have emailed the previous owner who now cannot access his vodafone account anymore can any of you techies help me please? The box is connected with 3 lights showing onto a bt homehub 3

Hi, I'm in a similar situation here. I have a pre-owned sure signal (serial no: 40130610237) which I have owned for approx' 12 months. I'm not particularly techie and have never really been able to get any use out of it.
Upon recently speaking with customer service it appears that the unit is still registered to another number.
I have no way of contacting the previous owner to ask them to de-register the unit so was wondering if, like boyracer46, the previous owners number is still in use or whether it has been cancelled/terminated?
Any help would be great as it would be nice to be able to finally use the sure signal unit.
Many thanks.

Hello gismodicus
You really have the answer on previous replies. Vodafone cant give you that information, they would be in breech of data protection laws.

That doesn't appear to be the case with boyracer46. He didn't have the details or means to contact the previous owner and was told that, as the previous number still registered to his sure signal was no longer in service vodaphone was able to, and did, deregister his sure signal to allow him to use it?
This shows a clear precidance in that particular circumstance.
All I've asked is, if the previous number registered to my sure signal unit is no longer in service/being used, can vodaphone deregister my unit to allow me to register it to my number?
