problems with Mobile Broadband

hi everyone..have just purchased 3g dongle from vodafone and have spent last night and most of today trying to get some joy..alas no joy . this is my first experience of mobile broadband and i have to say , what a load of rubbish..0 kbps/bps..whats that about. dial up connection 10 years ago was a hundred times more preferable than this..this is a joke..its not proper internet. when i connect i get a very good signal..3-4 bars , which instantly goes down to 2 the second i launch my browser and i cannot access a single meaningful site i.e. any with streaming or moving image..noticed i have kbps/bps on upload and download until i try to use the internet at which point it dribbles off to zero..now if i got a poor signal and therefore poor connectivity and then a strong signal and some decent time on the net i could maybe live with that..but this isnt about connectivity or signal strength , i live in the heart of a big city and the coverage map says im in the red zone..this is the vodafone system not allowing my user requests to use their servers ( probably dont have enough resource to go round ) which is ######..ive paid my money , i want internet access. the system mechanically as if by magic stops me everytime..cant download flash player because the bit rate drops to zero at the exact same time every time ( tried 8 times ). i can access vodafone homepage no problem tho , perfect everytime..log in to my acccount tho..no chance, signal gone , back to vodafone apps page , no problem , onto something else..bps zero..its obvious vodafone mobile is micro-managing its resources to the detriment of many of us..preferential customers only i suppose. what a shoddy half-baked service..but well done vodafone , you managed to screw me for the cost of a dongle and £15 talktime..knew it would be a rubbish scam. give me cable broadband everytime.. hoping for a miracle..stash

What connection do you get? 3G? 3G+?

At times my connection is very quick, ive seen connection speeds of around 3.5mbp/s, which isnt too bad.

Hello Stashrider and welcome to the eForum,.

We're here to help and will certainly try to do so, I suspect the Vodafone page is 'cached' and stored in your browsing memory so loads up quickly, this is not uncommon for sites that are set as home pages and these may even load when you are offline.

In terms of the connection speed please coulld you supply a post code of your exact location so we can track specific sites, as well as any other post codes you have been afected in.

Thanks
