usage

i just topped my pay and go with 15 of credit and only use my dongle for emails.
a message has just popped up saying something like my usage is used up and do i want to continue.
i have 15.38 credit left, so i continued and am online as normal.
does this mean my usage isnt used up or am i looking at some kind of extra charge.
