Meant to be activated but still not a week on.

Well not impressed with Vodafone so far meant to be activated on 2/8/24 but now a week on still not activated, made numerous phonecalls web chats, with promises to get me up and running, I feel like I'm being lied to. And actually have because they told me that openreqch would contact to arrange a appointment when they don't do that.

Sky worked fine why doesn't this work.

@johnnyc77

From you other posts it seems you are on FTTC with Sky. (you called it "basic normal broadband")

If FTTC is all that is available where you live Vodafone should be able to take over the line.

However, if FTTP (full fibre) is available to you, Openreach will need to visit to install the new fibre. You should be able to see just what is available to you here: https://www.openreach.com/broadband-network/fibre-availability

Hi yes it's only FTTC in the area, l via open reach, there is nexfibre who do FTTP but currently it was only virgin.

The old sky broadband had a standard landline and this should be changing to digital I don't know if this is holding the transfer up.

Thanks for answering.

There was a previous post where the poster is being told by Vodafone that they can't renew their contract, because they are on copper.

Perhaps Vodafone have decided not to offer copper (FTTC) connections at all anymore? Getting actual correct info from Vodafone is always difficult.

Well they shouldn't have offered it to me on their checker if that's the case.

And done a transfer from my old broadband leaving me with no broadband at all.

Actually getting through to someone with any idea is a task in itself sadly.

Hi Johnny. They're are several of us on here with the exact problem.  I had Vodafone broadband, contract ended and was talked into fibre. Full fibre installed 25th July. Iv had no Internet since. Tomorrow is day 14. Iv had 3 calls today. They actually phone you back to ask do you have Internet? NO 👎.  The Vodafone broadband app says I don't have an account. It's so frustrating.  Wonder which one of us will be first to get connected.

Sadly still not connected. Was promised a call today didn't happen.

Apparently open reach wil be contacting me but I don't actually believe them. As all Vodafone have done is lie to me. Absolutely disgusting service from them.

Hi Johnny. I'm now activated. Long story but when the ONT was live it was connected and configured with the old router as hadn't received a new one. Old router disconnected at midnight. New router plugged in and not compatible however much Vodafone tried to connect. Openreach chap came and turned off the PON on the ONT. Phoned Vodafone that then connected the switcher back on PON to the new router. Was activated within minutes. It dipped in and out for an hour or so but it's been on constantly with no problems since Saturday morning.  Hope this helps.

Well still not connected, been told open reach have sorted whatever the issue is. Rebooted router still nothing. Told it could be a hour. Then when said it already has been , they said wait until midnight. I don't get what midnight will do as that was activation day not 2 weeks later.

Going to have to raise a complaint as this is a joke.
