After signing up for GeforceNow 3080 last year I was disappointed to find that my existing FFTC (copper wire) Vodafone Broadband always had higher than acceptable "Packet Loss" resulting in the message that "Streaming over your network is not recommended". The bandwidth was always OK at over 50mbps.
I had contacted Vodafone support about this but the issue was never resolved.
When my contract was coming to an end I contacted Vodafone about trying somewhere else but they talked me into an upgrade to Full Fibre at a lower price than I was already paying with no setup fees so I accepted the new service without hesitation.
Two weeks ago on 13/6 an Openreach engineer arrived and installed the fibre, it didn't work that day. I contacted Support who told me it was OK to leave the old FFTC cable along with the new WAN cable plugged in so that we would still have internet and that the router would switch over when the Fibre was activated.
I don't think that was true because after still having no Fibre 4 days later I unplugged the FFTC cable and the Fibre came on.
The problem now is that having "UPGRADED"??? to Full Fibre I am only get between 12 and 29 mbps on GeforceNow and the Packet Loss fluctuates between 0 and 20 depending on the mbps. I have spent hours on the phone to the Full Fibre support team but the issue is unresolved.
I wish I had looked here before "Upgrading"

Plenty of choice then. I simply have no trust in Vodafone being able to resolve anything.
Mmm. I've not recommended them to anyone but having said that everyone I've engaged with, and there have been many, seems well intentioned. I just think maybe they don't have the technical infrastructure or capacity to deal with the unexpected, and I've always fallen into the unexpected category,

Which Geforce Now server are you connecting to? The only one in the uk is EU West, based in London.
Just a thought.

Yes, a valid one too but I've tried them all.

Absolutely, They have been some of the nicest support people I have ever dealt with. Completely useless, but lovely.

I'm beginning to agree with you. two months in and I'm still getting the run around. I did a video https://youtu.be/xyxj7STLezg to show exactly what the issue is but level2 support just will not view it or pass it to L3 in spite of my constantly referring to it. Today they have asked me to provide screenshots even though the video shows much more detail. I think they are just trying to wear me down so I give up. I do keep getting warnings that the issue will be closed if I don't respond within x days.

as you are only "Streaming" the display locally. much like web browsing. For example I can play the very latest graphic intensive games on an old 2010 Macbook Pro (with a Windows 10 Bootcamp) and it doesn't even get warm.
As you can tell I'm not an expert on this. But as it is only basically streaming, and you are on FTTP it seems unlikely you do not have enough bandwidth. Is any other form of streaming effected? Also as it is an Nvidia service should you not be using a machine with an actual Nvidia graphics card?

The great thing about GeforceNow is it will run on pretty much anything. PC, Mac. Android, iOS and it will be native on some TV's soon. Probably even run on your internet connected fridge !!
There are some different tiers offering higher specifications, the one I'm on is capable of streaming the current high intensity games at 4k resolutions but it does require a good internet connection, not just for the video coming down the pipe to you but for controllers and keyboards etc going to the server.
The requirement are as follows:
Bandwidth (Mbps) required greater than 15 recommended >50
Packet loss (%) required less than 2 recommended less than 1.0
Latency (ms) required less than 80 recommended less than 4.0
To get 4K gaming you need to achieve the upper figures shown here.
I typically get results around 14, 5, 11

And what do you get on, for instance, speedtest.net?

Oddly enough I get a full 75 Mbps, which makes the issue far less annoying than it could be . It's something to do with Streaming, they have identified a fault with the network but not really indicated when it will be fixed as it's probably an Openreach issue?
