How to tell whether I'm on Superfast 1 or Superfast 2

Hi

I've just upgraded from Superfast 1 to Superfast 2 but the link speed is still exactly the same as it was on SF1.  i.e. 35Mbps/6Mbps.

I've tried to chat to Vodafone but they just keep repeating that the speed is better than the guaranteed minimum so it's just tough.

I still suspect that I haven't been upgraded.  After all, everything looks identical to me to the old SF1 connection.

Is there a way to see which connection I'm on?  DSL Mode or anything?

Thanks for any help.

Steve

It looks like you either have a line fault or a stuck profile. You need to rule out the possibility it may be your own internal wiring (if you have any) by trying in the test socket. If your stats don't change then a fault call will need to be raised.

It used to be that the VF routers would tell you which VDSL2 profile you were on.  So 17a would mean SF2 and 8b would be SF1.

A maximum speed of 28Mbps on profile 17a would almost always be below the BT hand back value, and as such VF would not normally offer SF2 on such a line!  *Your contract is with VF though, so you have no recourse against BT, just VF!

If you haven't already I'd turn the router off for a minimum of 30minutes and 45minutes if possible.  While it's turned off unplug the router from the phone socket.  While still unplugged (and waiting) power up the router and reset it before plugging it back into the phone socket - that may help, or it may not!

Thanks, Keith

I'm away from home for a few days now but will try the cold boot with 45 mins off-time when I get back.

Just to check, are the speed tests you're running done over Wi-Fi or a wired connection and are you running them over speedtest.net?

My goodness! He has posted his router stats and they are 34999 kbps / 5999 kbps, what difference does it make if he does speed tests over wifi or cabled. He is never going to get higher than that.
