We had our Vodafone internet activated yesterday and were told to wait till midnight for it to work it’s the next day now and we still don’t have internet all the lights are white we can connect but we can’t access the internet .we really need it for uni work and my job

You do need to post some details.
For instance, if you can use a windows based machine, then try........
WinKey + R
type cmd.exe
then
ping 127.0.0.1
ping 192.168.1.1
ping 13.107.4.52
and post any edited results.
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Next
ipconfig -all
with values like this
IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.77(Preferred)
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1
DHCP Server . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1
DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . :192.168.1.1
Please give us something to work with as the white lights suggest all is well.

I had the same problem myself. It was because the content controls were not set.
You should find you can still get to Vodafone's pages so try going to:
and set the controls.
