Microsoft Teams And Router

Hi All,

Like others, every time I use Microsoft teams, my router dies. If its on wifi or hardwired, during a call, the internet will drop and other devices hardwired in to the router go off. If I connect to my mobile as a hotspot, no problems. Currently on 500 Fibre etc. Pinging around 450 - 520 mbps. The router I have is the normal grey one.

What option have I, only been with Vodafone a few months. Would get my own router but my land phone is connected as an output of the Vodafone router. Is there a fix? Spit the ethernet from the wall so it goes to two routers and only have phone connected to router? Another router that does landline too?

Yeah I've seen a lot of people saying it's the router. I'm still within my 14 days so thinking about calling up and demanding a different router model, threatening to leave if they don't give me one. I'm not sure all the hassle is worth it though so will probably end up buying a cheap router myself.

It's odd though because I'm using the same supplied router as I have been for the last 3 years and it works perfectly fine when I had FTTC

Its a joke either way - I was outside the 14 days, and annoyingly I'd recommended a friend also to join, and surprise he had the same issues with teams. I brought a TP link AC2100, two of them one for me one for my friend, both under £20 of ebay and both have resolved our issues, you shouldn't have too but ultimately they wanted best part of £300 to leave my deal early, so it was the much lesser of 2 evils.

I left BT who I had never had issues with in the 10+ years I had been with them, just price in the end caused me to move. I guess you get what you pay for, but whilst you are in your 14 days you hold the aces, I wish I hadn't of left it for as long as I did

Was it easy enough getting the new router set up? I've seen posts from other people having issues

Bit of hassle in the first instance, but after some helpful replies on here and reading around its pretty straight forward, if you end up getting one drop me a message and I'll note down what I did

@conor1 Additional info in the following thread, probably best to start reading from the end.
