We’ve recently had City Fibre installed in our local area.  Our existing broadband is through Sky. We have a full monoblocked drive that we don’t really want to dig up. When I called Vodafone today to query whether they could send an engineer to inspect to see if they could use the existing ducts available, I was advised this wasn’t an option and that we’d just need to enter into a new agreement and that the engineer wouldn’t undertake any work that I didn’t want them to do.  After explaining to the customer services rep that it would involve me terminating my current agreement (we’re out of contract so no penalty) but then potentially to be without broadband for however long whilst we might have to reinstate it again - didn’t seem to help her to understand the situation.

Is anyone aware of Vodafone even doing TEAMs / Zoom meetings with potential customers or sharing of photos so we could figure out if it’s even possible?  It’s the modern day after all!
Thanks in advance!

If you are considering moving to Vodafone over CityFibre, it will not need the Sky (over Openreach) to be cancelled.

In fact it's probably best to keep Sky until the Vodafone is fully working, in case of delays.

If keeping your existing number is important to you, that may be a problem, but otherwise the two services are completely separate.

Thank you for your feedback, I did wonder if we could crossover.  Ideally, I’d like to keep the existing number.

Who knew that it could be so difficult to try to buy a new service from someone!
