I used to get 5ms ping to London (from Coventry), now I am being auto connected to Edinburugh and I get 15 ping to there, when I try to speedtest to London or even right next to me in Leicester I am getting pings above 22...I called in and they just said "they added new servers and there's nothing much we can do"...
any help?

That's really not how social messaging is expected to work!

Got an update today from the Wifi Team, supposedly CityFibre's saying this is normal? I am unsure if they meant that this is how things are going to stay as from now on or not? Guess we gotta give it more time...

If that's the case then CityFibre will get themselves into trouble for misleading advertising. They are boasting about faster connections and how their fibre technology is superior to older tech etc on their website, when right now, the latency is actually higher than virgin media's now!

They just told me any ping below 60 or something is considered "excellent" and all that nonsense...what's the point of being a fibre network if you're getting outperformed by copper connection.

Hi everyone! If you haven't already, please reach out to our Social Media team so we're able to collate your examples and get this raised to the right team for you all 🙂

If you look earlier in the comments we did already try that. There's not much else we can do I'm afraid.

Good morning all I'm sorry that there's been some confusion - we've sent a communication round to the whole department to let them know what they need to look out for and how they should be passing these examples on.
@htyaH I've found your conversation thread and I'll flag the details up now.
For future reference everyone, please include your community username and a link to your post (when contacting us over social media) so we can match the two up, I haven't been able to find some conversations for you and some conversations have been given the wrong information due to this.
EDIT: I can see that some have been correctly passed on - thanks.

@Amanda I've tried, I can't get through via messaging which seems to be the only way for me to pass details on.
Update: Managed to get through just now...

I've done this but the advisor seemed very confused and wasn't sure why they were taking the details down into my account as they said it's the social media teams responsibility.
Update: @Amanda they say they have put the details into my account, including forum username and link to the thread. Is this sufficient for you to include my info in the examples you are collating?
