I used to get 5ms ping to London (from Coventry), now I am being auto connected to Edinburugh and I get 15 ping to there, when I try to speedtest to London or even right next to me in Leicester I am getting pings above 22...I called in and they just said "they added new servers and there's nothing much we can do"...

any help?

I'm sure that is very interesting, if only I could understand just what it means??? 😕

My static IP is up and running and I'm connected to Edinburgh. No complaints though, better than Ghana.

Now I have a question. In my router's WAN settings I can set the static IP with a mask and a default gateway. Do you think it would work to put the IP of a different gateway there? I'm asking before I try it because I know I'll have to trawl right back in this thread to get a gateway IP.

Your pictures haven't been moderated yet, but I would say "suck it and see".

I appear to be connected to Manchester, and my gateway is 90.246.0.1.

Well  sucked it, and I see my gateway is still Edinburgh.

Point of interest - speedtest.net geolocates me to High Wycombe now, and I believe that will be permanent now. Speedtests to the server there give me my expected speeds but still a high (24ms) latency.

I'll try this again later with my netgear router. It either just plain doesn't work or my routing is a deliberate decision, some kind of divert.

Bump!

Still on Edinburgh, still suffering unnecessarily high latency.

Sorry to hear this.

I received a call the other day from the complaints team, I am still waiting to hear what they say about what you and others suffering from the same issue should do.

take off your static IP. When I took mine off it instantly changed my routing (both with tracert & the server it goes through on speedtest.net)

Last time I went back to dynamic it did nowt. I have as static IP now to stop me getting IPs from abroad (Ghana last time)

Would love to be enlightened on why the issue is marked as solved, clearly the thread is very active still and majority of people still have issues?

Vodafone staff any comments?
