I used to get 5ms ping to London (from Coventry), now I am being auto connected to Edinburugh and I get 15 ping to there, when I try to speedtest to London or even right next to me in Leicester I am getting pings above 22...I called in and they just said "they added new servers and there's nothing much we can do"...

any help?

Glad to see you all are having a better experience, sadly mines still on Edinburgh 😕 I guess the load on the servers down South are still high or something idk

Have faith and keep posting. Be a bit of a nuisance. Only took 93 days to get mine sorted.

I took delivery of a second hand rt-ac88u yesterday, flashed the merlin firmware and found a great feature.

Who else is still struggling with high Latency?

The problem seems to be resolved for now. I'm based in Manchester and finally got connected to the LINX Manchester at Manchester Science Park.

I'm in Leeds and I was routed to Birmingham with a high ping of 14 to 17 auto routed to Vodafone Manchester now I'm routed via Edinburgh now but with a ping of 7 on WiFi so I assume it will be lower with my ethernet as it did used to be so even though I'm routed wrong it's fine for me now

What's your gateway IP?

It's 84.66.136.13

But on googling that is the same for a few regions so maybe I am routed via leeds

Your IP is assigned by the Leeds BNG, so likely you are routed via Leeds - ldscd2-bng-c1 to be precise.

Run a traceroute to the BBC. The first IP outside of your home network is your gateway.

Is it possible something has messed up with the provisioning on my account. The reason I ask is this morning I had no internet access. While going through the router settings I spotted I had been assigned two static WAN IPs:

TwoWAN.png

Static IPs redacted. Note the 'Lease Expired' - that's permanent.

Weird things have been happening since I got fttp. Could it be possible my account is just totally messed up? Could I be getting close to an answer? Probably just wishful thinking.

I got the static IP to stop me being assigned foreign IPs. Could the foreign IPs be a sign that the vodafone system has no idea where I am?

This is beyond strange, this is spooky.

@Anonymous now you're images have been moderated I must say - 3400+ miles to your closest speed test server, just 😜

Now my speed test is being defaulted to Windstream - New York, with a 80ms. What is going on?

Just to be sure I have done a tracert.

Tracing route to one.one.one.one [1.1.1.1]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms GT-AX11000-CBB0 [192.168.1.1]
2 7 ms 7 ms 6 ms 90.246.0.1
3 8 ms 8 ms 8 ms 63.130.104.202
4 9 ms 8 ms 9 ms 10.200.18.53
5 9 ms 9 ms 9 ms 90.255.251.37
6 9 ms 9 ms 9 ms 162.158.32.11
7 9 ms 8 ms 8 ms one.one.one.one [1.1.1.1]

Phew! That's more like it!  Indeed that is the best result of a tracert I have had  in ages.  9 ms.
