I used to get 5ms ping to London (from Coventry), now I am being auto connected to Edinburugh and I get 15 ping to there, when I try to speedtest to London or even right next to me in Leicester I am getting pings above 22...I called in and they just said "they added new servers and there's nothing much we can do"...

any help?

@ZinGeRs 16ms is still too high.  Are you testing whilst connected by WiFi or ethernet?

Ethernet I know it is too high but I am not optimally routed at the moment, however much rather a working connection every evening than go back to 10ms and unusable evening connection via my original routing.

The connection was unusable in an evening for anything other than basic browsing

I've tried 3 times now to post the evidence and all 3 posts have been deleted.

I've had a response back and the high ping and out of town routing issue is being worked on and will be fixed soon.

@purrbox said, "I've tried 3 times now to post the evidence and all 3 posts have been deleted."

I can't imagine why the MODs here would want to delete the evidence we, and probably they, have been waiting for.

@purrbox

I see only four reasons why any post would be delete

  • Profanity (though this would normally be redacted for you)
  • Religion or politics
  • Directed attacks (flaming)
  • Spam

The evidence I provide is what I've already posted throughout this thread. All you have to do is go back to post #1 and read.

Cityfibre just provide the link to vodafone's infrastructure and in no way can they affect routing or gateway.

I'm not saying you don't have problems with Cityfibre, but the problems discussed in this thread are with vodafone.

Nobody's got a problem with you purrbox, it's just that we've been dealing with this issue way longer and we know it's a VF issue. I sympathise with you and I'm sure from your PoV we've all got it wrong - I would suggest you make your own thread if you want to continue insisting it's a CityFibre problem.

I don't think anyone here is wrong, I'm just basing my views on what I have been told by people at Vodafone and City fibre

I have no idea why I'm not allowed to post the evidence. It's crucial to this whole thread and contained good news.

However, they've removed the posts so I just have to respect the mods decision.

Without posting the evidence, there's not much else I can contribute to the thread.

They will remove anything they believe has personally identifiable information, such as your IP address or Mac addresses, so you need to obscure the last couple of digits,

Other than that, it usually takes a lot for posts to be deleted. They do have an automated filter which is overzealous, and those posts usually reappear once they have been reviewed.

It didn't contain anything like that. It was just a summary of a phone call I had with the support team explaining the issues and the solution they are working on.

you can always upload it to imgur and post a link to bypass it like this:
