Hiya,

In the next week im due to have my line activated for 900 Pro Xtra. I’m planning to use my own router (got the steps from this forum!) however I just wanted to know how I can still use the landline with Vodafone. Is this still possible if using your own router?

Hi @Powershell – I’m puzzled regarding this conversation, let me see if I can break down the thought process.

  1. Will you be connecting your router to the Vodafone Router (Double router in effect)?
  2. Were you thinking instead of using the Vodafone router, you were hoping to plug yours instead – directly to the Gigapoint?

It will be my router straight to the ONT.

had a chat with a Vodafone manager last night and they said that would work (for internet) but not for phone. If I want to use the phone part of the package I would HAVE to use the Vodafone router unfortunately.

I understand, you could then do the reverse set-up, have the Vodafone router after your's, technically it won't be serving other purposes other than telephony.

Another way, but it means setting up a unified device called "Security Gateway PRO-4.

@Powershell - Should have realised regarding your name..... Looks we are in the same boat. Had my Cityfibre running for a few day's in Coventry. Happy with the performance, Just looking to install a rack under the stairs and to allow more air.
