Wifi is great, but the internet goes down multiple times a day...then restarts

New home here, happy customer in our old place but here the internet line dies and reconnects a few minutes later, rendering anything that requires a constant connection a turkey shoot.

The wireless networks are always constant but the DSL line drops (a PC web browser brings me to a vodafone page which prompts me to restart the router, which doesn't do anything btw, so I just sit and wait). This is on all devices, PC, phone, TV.

Router is the HHG 2500

This is multiple times a day and completely at random. I've split the SSIDs but even this hasn't helped.

Due to the layout of the house running an Ethernet from downstairs, up the stairs and across the landing is something I really don't want to do as it would be messy . Especially as the wifi speed is genuinely fullspeed everywhere in the house.

Live chat copy-pasters aren't helping and it's getting annoying now, I can't do any online gaming because the DC's always come.

Try connecting into the test socket. If that doesn't improve things call Vodafone on 08080 034 515 so they can run some line tests.

Have the router connected to the test socket for at least 72 hours before you call as that is one of their "tick boxes".

Edit: When you moved, did you take out a new contract? If so you should have been given a THG3000 router. The HHG2500 was/is apparently a terrible router.

Hey @mrdcman, I'm sorry to hear about the issues you've been having with the service at your new address. As @Jayach suggested, we can certainly run a test on the line for you to see if we can find an explanation for the drops. The 72hr timeframe is also the amount of time we need to run the test for you. If you've connected into your test socket, please drop us a message over on our Social Media here and we'll help you take a closer look at things 👍

I had an engineer out yesterday and it turns out the socket was correded on the pins [it was an old one] fingers crossed that's seemed to have fixed things!

Nope. Just had a disconnect tonight - bleeeeh.

Have you checked to see if your sync speed has increased? It may be DLM correcting your line after all the previous disconnects.
