I've had a no contract broadband plan for about 2 years now and it offered me 63 mbps speeds, which I did get. But now I've realised everything has gotten a lot slower (dropped down to 43 mbps and no broadband guarantee). I want to know the reason why this is happening since every other broadband provider using openreachs network is now giving me 43 instead of the usual 63-70 mbps. It's not like openreach has installed another 200 meters of copper wire to my house right...?
I don't know if event logs are safe to share online since it isn't a BT router but a Vodafone router, however I'm noticing many firewall related events such as:
[616818.696410] DROP wan in: IN=pppoe-wan OUT= MAC= src=omitted DST=omitted LEN=40 TOS=0x00 PREC=0x00 TTL=248 ID=54321 PROTO=TCP SPT=57289 DPT=4786 WINDOW=65535 RES=0x00 SYN URGP=0 MARK=0x8000000
(This one is a firewall message that pops up all the time but with a different SRC number)
and also system related errors:
Failed to send DHCPV6 message to ff02::1:2 (Permission denied)
I've done a quiet line test and I haven't noticed anything wrong with it.

I can't seem to send the broadband availability in the post above so I've used gyazo to upload the image https://gyazo.com/0213c9dd0f8b56cabcd3eeda750016ce

Using either the APP or (somewhere in) the MyVodafone menu on this page you can perform an automated test to try and narrow down the problem. Dropping the WAN PPPoE connection could be due to the cabinet, the line, or your router/modem.

The DROP message is the interesting one, as has already been said. Ignore the DHCPV6 because VF do not supply IPv6.
Try this https://speedtest.btwholesale.com/ and once it has completed click on "Additional Diagnostics" for the secord part of the test.

As you appear to have edited the log, it not possible to be sure, but the drop message appears to be a typical ignore an unsolicited probe, not a WAN down.
Whatever the cause of your slowdown, I suspect that the "observed" speed in the BT checker is why ISP checkers are not offering you higher guaranteed speeds. (they don't want the hassle of dealing with Openreach)
You need to try with the router in the test socket, and if your sync speed or SNR do not improve, report it to Vodafone so they can call Openreach out.
Could we see your DSL stats, preferably before and after you try the test socket.

Thank you for the response. Do you know where I can get DSL stats?
@Cynric Thank you for the response also. I tried using that website you've linked me however, I currently can't do an additional test due to their system being busy?

DSL stats are here:

Here's the current DSL Status (Before test socket)
Here's the DSL Status with test socket:

While you're in the router's status pages could you also paste in your gateway IP and we'll identify where you are routed - it could be relevant.
Also could you run a speed test here
https://www.vodafone.co.uk/broadband/speed-test
AAs well as all the other info you've been asked for this could help identify where you're actually being slowed - openreach or vodafone.

Gateway: 90.246.0.1
what I’ve noticed is that my sync speed has went up to 55 now but speedtests show that I am still getting 43-45 mbps. Ookla says my connection leads to YouFibre in Manchester.
