I've had a no contract broadband plan for about 2 years now and it offered me 63 mbps speeds, which I did get. But now I've realised everything has gotten a lot slower (dropped down to 43 mbps and no broadband guarantee). I want to know the reason why this is happening since every other broadband provider using openreachs network is now giving me 43 instead of the usual 63-70 mbps. It's not like openreach has installed another 200 meters of copper wire to my house right...?
I don't know if event logs are safe to share online since it isn't a BT router but a Vodafone router, however I'm noticing many firewall related events such as:
[616818.696410] DROP wan in: IN=pppoe-wan OUT= MAC= src=omitted DST=omitted LEN=40 TOS=0x00 PREC=0x00 TTL=248 ID=54321 PROTO=TCP SPT=57289 DPT=4786 WINDOW=65535 RES=0x00 SYN URGP=0 MARK=0x8000000
(This one is a firewall message that pops up all the time but with a different SRC number)
and also system related errors:
Failed to send DHCPV6 message to ff02::1:2 (Permission denied)
I've done a quiet line test and I haven't noticed anything wrong with it.

Welcome to the Leeds gateway. If you're nowhere near Leeds this could compound your issues (high ping).

Yeah that’s 2 hours away.

Not at the speed electricity flows. LOL.
Thanks for posting your stats, once the pictures have been moderated, we will have a much better idea of what is going on.

Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised… Some servers detect me as a user from India!

That's because they are using geolocation, and Vodafone brought a load of IPv4 addresses over from their Indian subsidiary, The databases have not been updated. (and probably never will be)

Now your pictures have been moderated, we have a "base line".
The figures before and after the test socket are very similar, which say there is no problem at your end. (good)
Your upload with a sync of 17Mbs and SNR of 6 says you are at the maximum for your line. (also good)
Your download sync of 55Mbs is good, but the SNR of 9.7 says much more is available, I can only assume DLM has lowered your sync speed because of the many disconnections. (whether that is you restarting the router or a line problem, I can't tell)
On a sync of 55, you should expect at least high 40's on a wired download test, which is not far off what you say you are getting, so the question is why has DLM increased your SNR/lowered your speed?
Personally I would ask Vodafone if they could do a DLM reset, but they always seem to be loathe to do that.
The alternative is to just leave the router alone, try not to reboot or disconnected it, and hope DLM will kick in and improve the line stats.
If you look at my earlier stats, the line had been up for 70 days, with no cuts, so DLM had reduced my SNR to 4.1. That enabled me to get the maximum for my line of 80Mbs. You're not far off that, but we need to find out why you are getting so many "cuts". (cuts are line disconnects, but the router itself stayed powered up)
If you can. get Vodafone to instigate a DLM reset (I believe they have to ask Openreach to do it), otherwise just leave it alone for a while, and check if the "cuts" are still occurring.

Thank you for helping. I’ve kept my broadband online for an entire week without the line in my house being disconnected (restarted it a few days ago since I have no idea why it just happens to drop sometimes) so it must be whatever the hell openreach is doing outside…
