Hi Guys,
I today purchased a sim/mobile account from the Vodafone store with unlimited data and calls, I believe it to be just a normal phone contract sim, I was told that it would work with my recently purchesed Huawei AI cube B900, but I just can not get it to connect to the internet, If I put the sim into a phone it works and connects to the internet OK, and the router works fine with a 3 mobile and an O2 sim in it, Ive had a little search on here/online and seen aot about changing IP and DNS settings but im not to clued up on this.
Do I have the wrong contract as in should it be a broadband sim?
Is it vodafone and the cube not compatible?
why does my standard mobile O2 sim and a 3 mobile data sim work OK?
or is it just me not knowing how to set it up?
Thanks in advance
Darren

I returned the device and got a different 4G router which worked perfectly with the same SIM. It's an issue probably with the combination of the AI Cube and Vodafone's SIM.
Both Huawei and Vodafone were useless.

Back onto Ebay it goes then I guess. Would love to know what's actually causing it though
There's a surprise
Appreciate the response pal 👍

Hello everyone,
I just wanted to confirm that, I have the exact same issue using Vodafone "VOXI" on Huawei AI cube B900-230.
I got my sim yesterday and works fine with iPhone but as soon as I put it in the AI cube, I was trapped in the 3G network and, it doesn't register with Voda 4G but only Voda 3G (from the network list). When I changed the network and select the 4G network manually, I would face No network and no signal which was very strange and annoying. I tried to change the APN profile as like below:
[wap.vodafone.co.uk, wap, wap] & [pp.vodafone.co.uk, wap, wap]
In somehow, pp works better but the problem is still there, So I decided to contact operator support, They kindly tried to help me going through the issue and troubleshooting the problem together. In the end, the support team had decided to opt my sim out of the plan and after almost 12 hours my sim opted in again. BUT, the problem is still here and nothing changed.
Finally, after finding this forum and reading all the post in this thread, I put the sim again on the Huawei AI cube with this APN profile [pp] and the device was open and working on 3G for 12 hours, and I kept tracking it that almost after 12 hours the network automatically registered to "4G voda UK".
I would really appreciate a proper response from Vodafone on this thread about what is causing the problem and give us a solution.

This has happened to me too, however after each restart you are stuck at 3G for another 24-48 hours.
I've sold the router and got a different one instead. Look for the Gigacube on eBay etc.
I am actually going to sell mine soon, as the contract with vodafone ends.

We'd need to take a closer look into your account with us to find out what may have been the cause of this for you. Did the team that actioned the changes let you know what was being actioned on your account? It may be we disconnected and reconnected your SIM to refresh your 4G connection.
You can also message us on Facebook or Twitter where we'll be able to complete security and confirm this for you. If messaging us, please include your Community username and link to your post. You'll be presented by our BOT - please ensure you select 'Get Started' and 'Asked to DM' so you'll be routed through to our team.

Based on your advice, I contacted the support team and this is what the answered which is not very convenient.
"I've read the post you've sent the link for. Thank you for this. You've advised in your post that the SIM works in an iPhone, meaning the issue lies with the third party device you're putting it into. Our SIM cards are designed for mobiles and we can't guarantee that they'll work in third party devices. The APNs we've advised above should allow you access. If you're still receiving poor speeds through the device, then I would recommend contacting the manufacturer for further steps to allow the connection through our SIM card. Bethan"
By the way, thanks for all your efforts to resolve this issue, I will cancel my contract by the end of this month.

Also having this issue, have contacted support and they are sending a new sim that "should work". All other network sims I've tried work fine.

Update on my last post: Got the new sim and it doesnt work either (After support said it would work fine). It seems something is wrong on vodafones end as there the only network that fails to work with it. I have all but given up trying to fix it as support clearly doesn't haven't a clue.
