Hi all,
I have a Vodafone Gigacube which I have taken the SIM card out of and inserted into a Huawei E3276 USB modem.
I have plugged this USB modem into my Draytek Vigor 2860 and am trying to enable internet using PPP.
I have done this because the Gigacube only supports a very limited number of DDNS providers (none of which I can use). Previously I was with BT Internet direct into my Draytek and DDNS was fine but it was only 3mb top speed (no fibre in my area).
Since getting the Gigacube the speed is great but I can no longer access my devices remotely via my prefered DDNS providers.
The Draytek router recognises the Huawei USB Modem successfully and I am able to get internet access but only if I set the USB (WAN3) to DHCP, but I am then not issued a public I.P. address and so DDNS is not functioning for me.
I could be wrong but I believe that I may need to configure the router to use the USB (WAN3) in PPP mode and acquire a public IP address.
Strangely enough, when I plug the USB modem with it's inserted SIM card into a laptop, I do get a public I.P. address.
Any insight would be appreciated.
Regards
Tim

Hi @turbotim
It may be worth mentioning that the SIM provided with the Gigacube is intended for exclusive use with the Gigacube and you may be charged when using the SIM in an alternative device. See here: Legal Terms Gigacube
Only wanted to mention it as the last thing needed at the moment are unexpected extra charges.
