Hello,
I moved to a new flat, and i have the openreach ont and a socket next to it with a diferent plug than the normal rj45.
I have have the same plug on the top floor next where the tv going to be.
My question is, how do i do the connections so i can use the socket where the tv going to be so i can have it connected by cable instead of wifi?
Thank you for help.
Cheers

Just to close the rj11/rj45 debate.
RJ45 is 8pin and wired to the TIA568B standard. However the chart posted is for the old 2pair 100Mbit connection. 1Gbe uses all 4 pairs. RJ45 is for data only.
RJ11 is 6 pin and can use 1 or 2 pairs. Most common wiring is pins 2+5, but 3+4 can be used for specific reasons, as can both pairs (eg two phone lines). RJ11 is for telecomms only.
RJ45 and RJ11 should never be mixed.

I need to correct myself. Rj45 patch panels are used in buildings where telecomms are provided over say a 20pair CW1308 cable, one pair to each connector.
But that's not domestic and is generally used in cabs and exchanges.
But that's irrelevant here.

Hello,
I have got the router delivered, i have checked and cant use the plug, its only for the broadband that uses the copper cable.
For fibre needs to be connected directly to the ont, so yeah, going to give the wifi a go, because i cant pass a cable to where i will be.
Thank you all and for the replies.

Hello all,
I have received the router, service is working, from the tests i have done, i can say that the wifi doesnt reach all the flat, so i will need something to sort it out.
Or a wifi amplifier or pass cable to where the devices will be.
Thank you for all replies.
