Giftcloud £120 Voucher Scam

I purchased a vodafone broadband contract which was supposed to come with a £120 voucher from giftcloud after 90 days. I waited the time and got nothing. I contacted giftcloud who told me that I was ineligible (and they were supposedly told this by vodafone). I contacted vodafone, who told me they couldn't help me as giftcloud is a third party, that giftcloud had not contacted them about it, and that they couldn't tell me why I was ineligible. I asked giftcloud about this but they said that they couldn't help as it was vodafone who said I'm ineligible. I checked the terms and see no reason why I am ineligible, and both companies refuse to help me, each saying it is the other companies responsibility! I really don't know what to do at this point and I am still £120 out of pocket!

I applied for this offer when I ordered my Vodafone broadband and it involved quite a bit of chasing, but eventually I got the money - to my surprise. 

I do think that the whole scheme relies upon the majority of people forgetting or giving up on it. 

At more one point in the process, I’m pretty sure I also referred to it as a scam. 

@annoyediphone would you mind elaborating on who you chased and how?

I'm in the same situation: have written to Giftcloud and waiting for their response.

I see no reason for them to refuse it, although their 'status checker' is inconclusive:

"Your purchase is being processed. Once your provider lets us know you have completed your purchase we will update this page."

Hi All, received my reward after the following.

Discovered that Giftcloud belongs to Groupon and sent polite email to Dušan. After a reminder one week later he was on the case.

I had also emailed Vodafone ceo and was passed to executive claims. They have no knowledge of a link between them and Giftcloud but what company would give money away for going to another? All the time Giftcloud was quoting Vodafone. Still on the case to get Vodafone to admit link.

 

Best of luck with your claims, it's all jumping through hoops and hoping that you give up.
