I'm unable to print from a Samsung Android mobile using the default print service phone since the switchover to Vodafone.
Previously on Sky, I would add the IP of my printer to my phone, open my chosen document, and hit print.
Now when i do it, the notificatio icon comes up, but instantly goes to error.
I'ts like IPP over port 631 is being blockled by the router.
The IP is correct. I know the phone can see the printer, as when i type the IP, it comes up with the printers name.
Printer sharing is enabled on the router settings.
I set the printer to have a static adress on the DHCPv4 settings.

As the printer is on a lan connection and can be seen then the fault is with the router.
Disable the printer sharing on the router and Reboot - with the service enabled the router will intercept the port(s) for a usb connected printer, even if there isn't one connected.

Hmm, not sure that's correct! I've access from my phone (locally and remotely) to my own WiFi printer (HP) and a number of network-attached printers (HP and Ricoh) belonging to my work. I think enabling USB printer sharing only makes that printer available on the network, it wouldn't stop other printers, even multiple identical printers from showing up.

You may be right @CrimsonLiar, but that happened to me with the vf router - exactly the same setup. I don't even remember activating the printer share, I just plugged the printer lan to the router, I could see the printer from my phone and laptop but I couldn't print anything.
Maybe that's the vf way of simplifying things? I wonder if ipp would work correctly for two lan-connected printers, something I won't be trying.
I found the setting and disabled it - fixed.
I'm staying asus.
