Hello,
I am not yet a customer. About to give VM the elbow but stumbled on a two issues and can't establish if it is current as most postings are from 2018 & 2019.
1. I have a Synology 2TB NAS connected to my VM router via cable and it works fine. I have read of quite a number of VF users having problems with their router and an NAS. Can anyone clarify the current situation please? My current setup is for entire dynamic connections and everything is stable.
2. I read that the USB ports on the router are USB2 only and don't work with larger drives (say some) and / or need to be formatted to FAT32. What is the case with the USB ports please and are there limitations on drive size and / or drive format?
Thank you.
Clive

Until someone who is or has tried using a NAS all I can say as I can't see any reason why it wouldn't work.
The USB ports are indeed USB2. I use NTFS as a format and once again I can't see any problem with sizes, but I have only used USB sticks. The bigger problem is the sharing is only DLNA and SAMBA.
Now the biggest problem, I honestly couldn't recommend anyone transfer to Vodafone and especially from Virgin. Just spend some time reading the forum for the reasons why.

Thanks for your comments, which I understand. Though maybe you should spend some time wading through the treacle that is the VM User Forum. What has surprised me is, having looked closely at seven possible alternatives, they are all plagued with complaints. More so than, say, Electricity or Gas suppliers or providers of house or car insurance.
I have the view, which is not shared by VM, that their marketing is deceitful. Around ten months ago my service was £26 a month. Over the time, various discounts have ended so now I am paying £40 and from early June, this goes up to £66 - and no change in service over that time. A call to VM to complain and their first line of customer service reduces the £66 to £53 - and if I cancel my TV package to align it with the VF deal, the £53 goes up to £58 (go figure). "I'd like to cancel please" caused me to be passed to their Scottish customer services people. They offered me the same deal, including TV, for £37. I'm thinking of completing this weeks lottery with the numbers 26 66 53 58 and 37.
The local VF shop had to be told three times that my old BT cable ends at the outside wall and he eventually decided I'd need an engineer visit (you may be lucky ... when they connect it at the exchange it may just work - I'd have to be lucky for the signal to jump from the outside wall to a non-existent cable socket by the telephone). In any case - VF: if there is any dispute over prices or tariffs, this document *here* prevails - and that document there lists the installation fee not as £60 (per the shop) but as £0. Who knows.
Then there is EE whose options page (that lists all the services in my area) puts a nice green tick adjacent to the Free Installation line - that is, until you click on the Choose button and look at the price summary and the amount due.
I have to say that the most straight forward website with the clearest conditions and accuracy is Plusnet. I have a mobile with them and they have been really very good. VF's price is £30 and Plusnet's is £34 for the same service (VF may have an installation of £60 or it may not - one of life's little mysteries, but PN charge £49.99 - but that is clear, and clearly honest). We won't talk about TalkTalk.
Have a nice day.

When I was with Sky (TV & broadband) I tried to drops some services and the price went up!
So I tried dropping the TV and just went for broadband, but they still wanted £27 so I came here and it was £22.
But the first 3 months were terrible. I had a line fault, which is not Vodafone's fault, but getting it fixed is their job and they were useless at it. I doubt it would have taken 3 weeks if I'd still been on Sky.
What service are you looking at here? If it's FTTP over Openreach Vodafone seem to have problems actually providing it in some areas?
Edit: I remembered you talked about getting the cable extended from the outside of the house, so you must be looking at Superfast. Currently Superfast2 is on offer at Superfast1 price and that is £22 (same as when I joined) so I'm wondering where the £30 comes from?
2nd Edit: Ah! You want inclusive calls.

I've just moved to John Lewis (Plusnet underneath) and so far so good. If nothing else I've had no packet drops and CRC errors.
