Disconnected PAYG number - reactivated??

So I had a really cool number with vodafone and I was abroad for quite some time.

I use this number for whatsapp and other apps. I received an activation text on it for whatsapp in about June 2022. That was the last time I, "used" it.

A few points first.

Sim was prepaid and not registered with any name email etc.

So I was talking to a nice guy on live chat and I provided him with the number and the sim serial. He was able to access the account and asked me a few questions what id like on the reactivated number. I provided, name, email address and a new pin. I thought we were in luck and at the very end he said he was unable to reconnect it. He did try.

Unfortunately I had to leave the chat at this point.

I had tried talk to other agents since and they were asking me all sorts of crazy stuff like to upload and ID online etc which is crazy as the sim was never registered in the first place.

Anyway I use this number on various apps which are very active and I would very much like the number reconnected.

The number goes beep beep beep when you try call it. So its not in use by anyone else. Its still with Vodafone and was disconnected in October 2022.

I would gladly pay a considerable sum to get it back.

Its very frustrating as no one else has it, yet they say I cannot get it back.

Can I book it or pay for it for when it does become available etc?

Any help on getting this done is appreciated.

Thank you all in advance.

You have two problems here @JamesOC007 .

The first is if the number has not been registered to an account it will be ownerless and you would be unable to prove the number was used by you.

The second is if the number has been disconnected for 90 days without any outgoing chargeable activity, you won't be able to get the number back, as confirmed here: How do I reactivate my Pay as you go number?

However, no harm asking, drop the Social Team a message through social channels by following this link: Contact Us

I am still in possession of the sim and have a photo of the pack it came in with barcode/serial etc. Does this make any difference?
