Hi
Bit of a strange one here. My parents are living in Spain and they have an ancient Samsung Flip phone.
Perfectly adequate for the odd emergency text or call.
Its a pay as you go top up account.
Literally overnight everything has gone, no network, no service, but apparently lots of weird voicemail alerts (which they cant access as no service) and Sim Refresh happening
Has something happened that has kicked in on Feb 1st?
Got no clue what it says as they are in Spain and im in the UK
They will try a local phone shop tomorrow but was just wondering if anyone knew anything that is the likely cause?

A very recent thread here SIM-card-not-working @ChrisBUK
Also may I assume the Payg account has been used every 180 days to keep it active ?
If not then the Payg would be closed and number and any credit permanently lost.

When you say used that means sending a txt or making a call then?
I think they keep it topped up though but will check
They did phone Vodafone Customer services but all they got was the "clean the sim card" and turn the phone off and on routine.. so that wasnt much help

Yes the act of making a call, sending a text or topping up every 180 days constitutes usage @ChrisBUK

Then please use the advice on the linked in thread for the account holder to contact customer services to ask them to specifically check the account status.
