Account Closed and Settled But Still Reporting to Credit Reference Agencies

Hi Vodafone

My account has been closed on 7th January, final bill paid in February and £0 balance on account.

You are still reporting to credit reference agencies that the account is active, and not closed and Settled.

I have spoken with your customer service team online and by phone, and no one seems to understand what I'm talking about.

Please can someone help me from the Forum Team to get me in touch with the correct department to have my account 'closed and settled' with all credit reference agencies? Thanks.

Hi @rxfleming

I'm sure one of the Vodafone Team here will catch up with your thread and respond.

Since you've closed the contract by either giving the required 30 days notice or asking for a Pac Code from Vodafone, and giving said Pac Code to another Network within 30 days may I ask have you received a £0 bill and sorry your leaving letter which confirms account cancellation.

Hi!

No, I've received neither even though I have requested a final bill showing £0. I never received a goodbye letter.

Hi,

I have closed the account 1 year ago but it is still reporting to my credit account. Can you please close it as there is no balance.

Regards,

@rxfleming

I've sent you a private message with details on how to get in touch.

For anyone else with the same issue, try the steps listed here and if you’re still affected, contact customer service.

Hello,

Could someone please help me to get same issue sort out too. I've had a mobile contract account with Vodafone in the past and settled 2 years ago with no issue or debt. However when checked my Credit report recently it show still active account with £0 paid balance monthly, Vodafone update every month as active account. Spoke to credit report agency who tried to contact Vodafone but I've been told I should also contact Vodafone. I spoke to Vodafone customer service however have had no luck.

Any help or guidance would be much appreciated.

@Fara8181 @wwhyte92 - I’m sorry that you’ve both had to contact us to get this looked into.

I’ve sent you a private message with how to send us your details.

Once we receive them, one of the credit specialists from my team will be in touch.

Hi Gemma/Vodafone,

Similar problem for me, account closed 18 months ago, £0 balance, number transferred to another network via PAC code 18 months ago, but I still receive monthly emails telling me "Your bill is ready" and the credit reference agencies have the account as active on their systems instead of inactive. I called customer service earlier on today, after battling to get through the menu with seemingly no option to talk to someone, I finally got to speak to someone, who basically told me they would need to look into this and call me back in 5 mins. 2 hours later no call, and I have no reference number, name or contact number.

I don't want to chase my tail around and go through the same rigmarole as above over and over, it should be a simple fix, please can you give guidance on next steps and how to resolve, a direct number to the correct team would be helpful, so that I'm not wasting money in call menus through no fault of my own.

Thanks.
