Hello,
I have just signed up for a Simo entertainment plan and wanted to include Amazon Prime as my option as I have it already so it'll save me money.
I tried to opt for Prime but got this message.
'It looks like you already have Amazon Prime. If you wish to activate this offer, you'll need to cancel your existing payment method through the Amazon website. Your Amazon Prime subscription will stay active until the last day of your payment cycle. When your Prime subscription through Amazon is over, repeat this Vodafone sign up process to enjoy inclusive Amazon Prime.'
The trouble is I have an annual membership that finishes in July has anyone come across this or know what the best course of action is ?
I did contact Amazon and there prime team are getting back to me thought I would try here as well.
Cheers
Mark.

Hi @arty68 I'm not sure how it would work if you have an annual subscription for your Prime - your best option is to contact the Amazon Prime team to see if there is a way it can be swapped over. Normally it would be a monthly subscription that people would switch over from rather than the annual. I'm sure there will be a way round it 😊

Hi there. Just wanted to follow up this discussion. I'm on monthly Amazon prime subscription. Will I be able keep the same account / cancel my payment plan and replace with prime from entertainment pack? I just want to keep the same account / payment options and order history. I look forward to hearing back from you.

Hey @medialook 👋 You sure will, after you have ended the monthly subscription you will be able to follow the sign up process, instead of creating a new account you should see an option of signing in to your current account so you can keep using the same details 😊

It worked out well for me I contacted Amazon and they said they would just credit my annual subscription and not to bother with the vodafone offer. Which meant my lad was happy because I opted for YouTube premium instead. So big thumb up to Amazon..

Is anybody else still having any luck with this? Amazon are absolutely refusing to play ball because I have an existing annual subscription, they're telling me to wait 9 months and then start the Vodafone one which will play havok with the cycle. They won't do a pro-rata refund either because "I've already used the benefits of Prime", whatever relevance that has for pro-rata.

Update for this... I did manage to get a pro-rata refund of my Prime annual subscription so I could use my Vodafone Prime subscription, but Amazon Customer Service are clearly under instructions to stonewall Prime cancellations/refunds and it took a good few attempts to gett somebody to care or particularly understand the situation, so I wouldn't be absolutely confident you'll be able to get them to play ball. Or at least, make sure it's done before you order the contract.
I should emphasise that Vodafone's FAQ does explicitly state that you can't have an existing subscription so I guess that's on me, but having read about experiences of Amazon previously being happy to help (and my own, previously) you wouldn't guess that it's basically incompatible with an existing annual Prime subscription.
