Hi there I had an account with Vodafone for many years and came into financial difficulty and ended up defaulting on my account , I paid all this back over time , but when I checked my credit history it's showing as I paid it off then I started being charged £1 for a couple of years now it's completely ruined my credit score . Could someone please help me get this sorted ?

Paying off the debt is definitely the best step you have taken as this then shows as settled instead of outstanding on your Credit File @Philallison93
However the default will remain on your Credit file for 6 years from the default date.
You could speak to the Vodafone Social Media Teams as they have a dedicated Credit File Specialist Team who can investigate this £1 amount.
They won't however remove a default early.
Are you over the 6 years from the original default date ?

No not over the 6 years , it was roughly 2 years ago I paid it off and now showing as one pound for the last 2 years , I totally understand it won't be removed but if it shows on my credit file as paid off it is a lot better than outstanding , just hoping this can be sorted

What about when I never had a contract with Vodafone until last year, so 2020, and suddenly on my credit score came a defaulted account from 01.01.2018 😳 and it’s ruining my credit score. Who can I get in touch with about that?

Could you point me in the rite direction on how I would reach the social media team dedicated to the credit files

Please use the link I added to speak with the Vodafone Social Media Teams as they will involve their Credit File Specialist Teams.
The Credit File Specialist Teams are not customer facing so their is no direct communication route to give to you.
They can certainly look at the status of this but the default as your nkw aware will remain for 6 years from the default date @Philallison93
