How does Advantage work now?

Hello all,

Seeing how Vodafone have changed their pricing structure I.e. handsets are now priced separately to the airtime/sim contract how does the advantage scheme work?

I'm an existing customer and due to upgrade so I would like to know whether the 25% off applies to the airtime plan only or overall total cost? 

Another complication is whether the advantage discount can be applied to say existing customers 20% upgrade discount.

For official clarification do speak with customer services on 191, Live Chat or the Vodafone Social Media Teams via Facebook messenger or Twitter DM Contact-us-for-account-specific-queries. 

The information I can see from https://www.vodafone.co.uk/mobile/discounts/vodafone-advantage is "  If your employer's part of our Vodafone Advantage scheme, you could save 25% on selected Vodafone Pay monthly airtime and 15% on tablet and SIM only plans." 

And from the evo Terms and Conditions employee-offers/vodafone-advantage  " 5. The discount will be applied only to the monthly charge for the plans. Any device costs, charges for usage not included in your plan or any other additional charges will not be discounted." 

" Apply to selected Pay monthly phones that are not already promoted or discount. Clearance and Nearly new offers are also eligible.

Your upgrade discount is for opting go stay with Vodafone so isn't connected to the terms of not applying to a already promoted contract option.

You would however have to pay the administration fee which I believe is £10.

Right, so it seems like I need to be out of contract, then pull out a new contract through the VEA scheme. 

It seems like the VEA has a net additional discount of 5% compared to "early upgrade" and no additional fees when upgrading after 12 months?

The clarification you need is here: Advantage Terms and Conditions 

As you mention for the new Evo plans the airtime only will be discounted and you need to be out of contract or pay off the previous contract.

The terms have changed and the discount has to be applied at the time of purchase.
