My number's been spoofed - Vodafone won't help

Hey, I'm getting 30 or more calls from people a day, all saying I've called them. My number's clearly been adopted by some scammers and is being used to call people I don't know. Vodafone doesn't get it. TPS haven't helped. The Online Fraud line aren't interested. I've left a voicemail message on my phone explaining the situation and urging people not to leave messages, but I'm getting offensive texts and today some guy was swearing repeatedly into my voicemail, accusing me of harassing him.  It might sound weird but it really feels as if my privacy is being invaded. I guess I could change my number but that feels like an almighty hassle - I've had the same number for 30 years.

I've silenced unwanted numbers but it takes quite a while to block that many calls a day. It's been going on for about ten months and feels as if it's getting worse.

Can anyone help? I've done everything I can think of and everything that's suggested online.

Yes @SuzMcB47 this is not the first time this has happened, and there are some previous threads on the forum.  If you Google the question or enter the question in the forum search facility these will come up.

There is one here, but there are also others https://forum.vodafone.co.uk/t5/Network-queries/My-number-is-being-spoofed/td-p/2702157

You can speak to the Social Team here: Contact Us also raise a complaint here: Complaints

If this has been going on for 10 months now, you have tolerated it for long enough, you can't have 30 calls a day and have someone swearing in your voicemail.  Although you don't want to change the number it's something to be considered.

Thanks for coming back to me and for your understanding. I have Googled this several times and I see there are other threads but they don't suggest anything that might help. I also haven't seen examples of this many unwanted calls. I thought I would start a fresh question in case there are other customers who might be able to help me. There must surely be more people who are dealing with this? I feel that there must also be a way that I can just block all numbers that aren't in my contacts list. At the moment they are silenced but I'm still getting notifications from Vodafone as missed calls and I'm expected to block each one manually.

I was wondering if Secure Net might help, but Vodafone is saying that it's not available to me, even though I have switched off Private Relay, Wifi, and I am a very longstanding pay monthly customer. So it looks as if there is absolutely nothing I can do?

There is nothing you or Vodafone can do to stop it @SuzMcB47

I can spoof any number in a matter of seconds, it's easy. Communications regulators worldwide need to come together and implement rules that prohibit the spoofing of phone numbers and until that happens it will continue.
