No device on airtime plan

Evening,

im a little confused on this topic and hopefully someone can help.

  • I had a device plan and airtime plan on a business account. The airtime plan was moved to a consumer account as I was incorrectly placed on a business account.
  • I then had a device plan in one account and my airtime in another.
  • This December, I paid off my device early (around 10 months). The device is now mine.
  • around September, my airtime plan ended so I picked a new plan

Now to my question:

with no device plan, can I just have an airtime plan with no device attached? On the my Vodafone app, it’s says I can upgrade to sim-only in sep 2026. Theoretically, aren’t I already in a sim only plan if my device is paid off?

Thank you in advance!

I have never had a device. I'm SIM only, and I too have this displayed although obviously a different date is displayed. Ignore it!

Hi @Dieselcar204! What you're seeing in your app is your eligibility to upgrade to another SIM only plan. If you have a device on your account, this contract needs to end before you can take out a new device plan, however with SIM only you're able to upgrade to another SIM only plan the day before your current contract ends. I hope this clears things up 🙂

Thanks for the reply, so having an airtime plan and no device plan is ok?

Not a problem at all. We separated device plans and airtime plans to make things more flexible for our customers 🙂
