Number port issue talk mobile to vodafone

Hello,

Reaching out to see if anyone has any answers/hope things will get sorted ASAP

Recently purchased pay monthly iPhone 15 from Vodafone and wish to transfer number from talk mobile 

requested PAC code

completed online form and port due to take place on 5/01/24

lost all connection from Vodafone temporary number. Lost data from old network morning 5/1/24 and emailed from old network to confirm I have now left their network…  old number still registered on old sim - able to receive and send calls/texts but no data

contacted customer service team 5/1/24 - advised issue with number port but number porting team now shut and to wait until the next working day 8/1/24

 

contacted online team 8/1/24 - advised issue with number port. They spoke to number porting team who said PAC request is being used by another network… no solution offered and they have logged a complaint process due to failed number port and to wait 7 working days for a response…

advised I would need to purchase a pay as you go sim from Vodafone to get use of data/texts/calls while waiting for issue to be solved. No option of re-instating temporary number 

Contacted talk mobile who said from their end the number transfer process was complete 

now in no-mans land with no idea of if/when things will get sorted..

I have had this phone number for years and ported number several times with zero issues!

Now feeling completely frustrated and lost… other than “wait for a response from complaints team”

Can anyone help????!

The problem here @MrsAllen is Talk Mobile is part of Vodafone you can't port Vodafone to Vodafone and wouldn't use a PAC to complete the process.  To port in you would first need to cancel your Talk Mobile contract by porting out to any other network and back in on the new Vodafone contract or as you have been rightly advised transfer the number to Vodafone PAYG and move the number that way.

The best way forward is to speak directly to the Social Team, they will be able to advise the best way forward here Contact Us

Thank you for your response above. I wasn’t aware of that - surely that would have been flagged up before now??

My contract with talk mobile is now ended as I have used the PAC code… so surely I’m now not going to be able to port to an alternative pay as you go network??

I have tried reaching out via Facebook messenger, to see if that helps resolve the issue
