Phone contact ended monthly payments the same

My phone contract finished a few months back. Only just looked into this but I'm still paying the same as if I had a new premium phone.

Not in that much of a hurry to replace my phone, so cheaper plan would be ideal. Not seeing anything on their website though.

Alternatively, I can get a new phone with EE for over £10 pcm less. Might be the easiest option.

Unless you are on a new Evo plan, you pay one price which includes the device and airtime as one.  There's no concept of paying off the device and lowering payments.

You need to either upgrade to a sim only plan, or leave, or you are overpaying and being ripped off. If you just need UK connectivity, there's some decent upgrade deals from third parties that may include some cashback.
