Are Vodafone planning to add the Sony Xperia 1 iii to their line up when it's released in the UK in Summer of 2021 (expected to be August)?

I've been a past Sony supported for several generations via Vodafone pay monthly. I'd like to carry that on.

6 years with Vodafone, and I think it's really shocking that I can't upgrade my Xperia 1, which I got on Vodafone on launch day in 2019, at the launch of this new phone. Vodafone will not say when or at least if they will stock it, and customers would have to go to a different retailer to get a new contract and go through the mess of transferring their line, buy it outright, go to O2 or EE, or risk not getting one if demand outstrips supply! At least, Vodafone should give a date or say categorically that they will not offer it so we know what to do. "At the moment" is not good enough!!

Same as you. Vodafone customer for 25 years and when I spoke to some one on Web chat they just said they can't tell me if they will be selling the 1 mk iii. Surely someone there must know. I did notice that when 10mkiii came out V were one week late in offering this. One things for sure though if they don't give me a decent deal it will be.. . Ta da then.. 🖐

EE deals not bad.

I feel like a little kid with my 6 years! 😂 I had been with pretty much every network, other than Vodafone, until 2015. Customer service has been great, I think, and I got into Sim Racing on the back of the PS4 I got with my Xperia 1 two years ago. So for me, it's been good. I just wish I could get a firm statement either way!

I wonder if they're trying to put a PS5 package together as they did with the PS4 two years ago, and need to keep it quiet. Still, a date, even with no other details, would be enough.

I wonder if they're listening!

I've been with Voda for over 16 years. The last 10 have been really bad in terms of customer service, from hangups ringing 191 to incorrect deliveries, to incorrect billing, to turning off data...you name it, it's happened in the last decade. This is my final year with vodafone. What we as customers seem to forget is that we are the ones paying for the service. If the service isn't up to standard, just move. Stop pulling your hair out or screaming down the phone. They really don't care. Take it from me. In order for me to get something done, i call and go directly to complaints. I do not speak to an advisor no more, because they are not only inept, but unable to fix my problems.  The complaints team I have to admit are good but why does it have to even get to that point??? If voda looked at my history and are really keen to keep their loyal customers, they'd do whatever they could to keep us. One time i had 4 numbers on my account. Now, I have two numbers on my account but i feel like today is the day one of them switches to o2. i'm going to an o2 store today.

What stuns me the most with these threads about this new device is that i'm left scratching my head how smaller businesses can acquire this new handset and set voda tariffs but voda themselves are struggling to get the device??? a big multi-billion dollar in annual profit multinational company like this cannot acquire the handset quicker than smaller companies??? isn't that embarrassing?? But alas, i guess in the end, we are just numbers and bills to them so we can scream shout and moan, they truly believe we won't leave.

....and with that, I went to order my handset from o2. 😞 what a shame. My other lines will wind down, and move on too in due course.

And boom, just like that, two down. Just before I had my eye appointment, I saw an O2 shop that was open. And they have the phone in store!!! I've just reserved it, assuming it's the 256gb model and another one bites the dust. This will definitely be my last post here...oh and I saw on vouchers.co.uk a special offer for Amazon vouchers. Check it out and see if you can get it as I know Amazon has the case for this phone.

Take care everyone

@Segunakino. I am officially an o2 customer. I have contacted voda to cease my roaming contract dead as of 30 days time. Mo more procrastination, no more waiting for someone to respond to their customers. I didn't get what i wanted so found another that did.

Definitely my last note...lol

@blackbagz, I feel like a traitor! I am sticking with voda, as it turns out, but have purchased through fonehouse. Basically, the same 24 month gig would have cost me more with o2, and I'm not a big fan of 36 month deals that outlast your warranty.

Now, I've got to change my current number to PAYG, then get them to swap the numbers once the new account is up and running.

What a faf!

TBF, i get you. I had that option. Those small companies offering the phone with a voda contract did look tempting, but for me, I just thought clean slate. You're not a traitor, you're a consumer and you have a choice!!

Vodafone do you not have any updates at all?

As a major provider surely you should not be trailing behind on flagship handsets?

I am also having to look at switching to O2 now as my contract is 1 month away from ending.

This phone is not even listed as coming soon
