Are Vodafone planning to add the Sony Xperia 1 iii to their line up when it's released in the UK in Summer of 2021 (expected to be August)?

I've been a past Sony supported for several generations via Vodafone pay monthly. I'd like to carry that on.

Sony stated on their FB page that Vodafone will not be currently ranging the 1mkiii😔

Hi @phil1979,

Do you have a link to this, please?

Not that it matters, really. I'm about to collect my Xperia 1 iii from the O2 shop in Crewe, seeing as Fonehouse had phantom stock! It was out of stock immediately I ordered it.

O2 welcomed me with 6 months of Disney Plus for the kids, and £20 off my upfront payment too! I paid only a tenner! 😅

I took the audible 6 months because my kids already conned me out of D+ when it first came out. I also got 10% knocked off for my tariff so it was great all around, and in time for the XM3 offer (although i already have them!). If it is indeed true that Voda are not even stocking it on their official website, it solidifies why I claim they don't care. Not even a peep on this thread, other than the standard click on the coming soon page...well we already know it's not coming!! O2 were very welcoming. I have one more device on voda but that is going end of the year. I am on day 4 of my new x1iii and loving it!!!

Hey @Evie and @Mark,

Any confirmation on this on your side.  There's lots of negative feeling on this post do to lack of commitment on Vodafone part.  It would be good to get a statement from the Voda Moderators here to answer peoples questions and put them out of their misery.

Thanks and looking forward to a response on Monday (tomorrow)

Any ideas if this phone will be coming then to Vodafone then?!

Hey @HamzaXperia, I'm really sorry but as Mark previously advised, we're not able to provide confirmation on this. If the information does become available though, you'll be able to see it on our coming soon page here. We'd recommend keeping an eye on this for any updates 👍

I just want to yes or no. V are losing a lot of loyal customers. Also me if its not ranging next week.

@Phil1979 as you can see, and as we already predicted, you get the fluff piece response with zero backbone. That response from the moderator above for me supports and reinforces my decision to leave and sign up with O2. Zero honesty. Can't give a yes or no response. I suppose if any customer on here spared a thought for these moderators that they are gagged on said response, for a second you could understand and perhaps empathise with that position. However, with no statement from vodafone and continued responses such as click on the coming soon page when we all know now it's not coming soon, makes that migration to another network that much easier. It's called lack of trust because, speaking for myself of course, i do not feel any honesty in the questions we need answering. yes you get AN answer but nothing to help you make a decision specifically to stay. Loyalty, meaningless. You know what you have to do Phil

So seems to me, that although Vodafone retail don't offer this phone in their line up.  All chat sessions confirm this (not sure why the web moderators can't just say no we don't/won't stock).  Sony web page doesn't list Vodafone Retail as a place to purchase.

Other suppliers have that EVO style plans, where you pay for the phone over the term and then your tariff.  So in the end its all down to what each carrier supply items of air time and costs.  Its unfortunate that the phone isn't offered but you could buy simfree, or via Amazon and spread over 12 payments.  Or wait 6-12m for the phone price to drop and buy simfree?

I am teetering on SIMO and then getting a handset later.  Now who has the SIMO plan I want...

Hey @RedDragonTaff

We have some great SIM only plans available! You can find more information on our website

It's great you're looking at other options to get the phone you want and we're more than happy you'd want to keep your service with us!

Let us know what you go for 🙂
