Trying to retrieve my phone number.

I ordered a phone from mobiles.co.uk that was on the Vodafone network and supplied my PAC code from SMARTY my previous carrier as i wanted my number ported to Vodafone. I then changed my mind and sent the phone back without inserting the vodafone sim.

I have since taken out a contract with Talkmobile, better deal and different phone, and they cannot use the PAC code as they get an error message. They advised to contact SMARTY who could not help as they said to contact my new carrier.

Is it possible that the PAC code has moved my number to to the cancelled Vodafone order instead. If i have the sim card number for that cancelled order could a new pac code be generated from it to enable me to retrieve my number, or is there any other way around this.

The problem here @jazzyrath3 is having cancelled the contract before your number ported something you are aware of.  Even if Vodafone issued a PAC with Talk Mobile being part of Vodafone you would be unable to port to TalkMobile.

You would need to contact Smarty and ask them to reinstate the number, this will enable them to generate a fresh PAC to enable you to port to TalkMobile, I notice you have already been in contact with the network.

I am sure this thread will be picked up by the Social Team and they will be able to give much better advise.
