Upgrading through Carphone Warehouse and credit checks

Good afternoon everyone

First post. I just wanted to ask as I know things have changed with Vodafone and their Evo plans and you're credit checked for upgrades

If I upgrade through Carphone Warehouse, on a non evo plan, on just a standard 24 month plan where the cost covers everything (unlike evo where it's seperate phone and airtime plan)

Will I still be credit checked for the upgrade through CPW, I know you didn't used to get credit checked but wondered if this has changed since Evo, even though I'm not upgrading to an Evo plan and I'm upgrade through CPW rather than Vodafone

It's specifically the new evo plans where a person is Credit Checked.

If you go via CPW then ensure they upgrade you and not open up another contract or you'd then have to go through the process of moving your current phone number to the new contract.

If you take a new plan through Carphone and not an upgrade you can save up to £10.00 per month, plus on some deals claim cashback. When you take a new contract on the Carphone site, there is a box you can tick for already being with Vodafone to avoid a further credit check. It's easy to move the number to the new Carphone contract and if you use the search facility of the forum there are examples and how this can be done.

Providing you are out of contract, there will be nothing extra to pay on the previous contract and save yourself some money.
