Vodafone Advantage code

Hi, how long does it take for a Vodafone advantage code to be released from a basket. I have been having problems checking out but now it says my code is in use in another basket. Is there a period of time I have to wait until the system knows the code hasn’t been used and allows me to apply it to a new basket? Many Thanks

Hi @Tomtully321! If you've closed down the other browser without actually using the code, this should allow you to use the code in a new basket. I would also recommend clearing your cache and cookies 🙂

I have the same issue twice now with 2 different codes. I enter the code in the promotional codes box and when I press checkout-  the webpage crashes and tells me to contact customer service or call 191. I did this but they said they can't help as they can't enter the code. 

 

The two codes are now declared as used when I try again...??? I deleted catch and cookies but still doesn't work.

Hi all, I tried clearing the basket, clearing all my web data etc but was still unable to use the codes. It was as if the system thinks the codes have been used. I am sorted now as I have friends who also have access to the scheme. It would be so much easier if the customer service agents could apply the codes for you or like the old way when you had up to 30 days after upgrade to apply the discount. 

I have a code it said I used on 17/09, in fact I never completed the purchase. Why aren’t unused codes released after while?

It's an example of poor Vodafone IT. I used about 5 codes trying to buy an iPhone 14 Pro. None of the orders would go through, but the codes still say used. You'd think that after some time they would show unused, but no.  Of course, you can't expect anyone to help you either as they just say you have to go online and want to take an order as they eye up some commission.

Hi @Amanda  Thanks, but I'd rather Vodafone fixed their IT issue so it didn't happen again. If a basket is abandoned for any reason, the discount code should be available again, but it's not. This is your poor IT and needs to be raised to someone who understands it, not a call handler who has the job of closing off issues as quickly as possible when you call.

I went to Apple and bought direct. Vodafone lost a sale.

It really shouldn’t be that difficult for them to only categorise a code as used when the sale completes not when you add the code to a basket.
