I’m really frustrated. I decided to sell my old iPhone on eBay and the courier has lost the device in transit. I contacted Vodafone and asked them to block the IMEI but they say that because I purchased the phone directly from Apple they can’t do this. I contact Apple and they tell me that because I removed my Apple ID I have to contact Vodafone. The man from Vodafone confirmed he could see my sim had been used in the device but he can’t bar the IMEI because it wasn’t purchased from Vodafone. Information I found online states that only my network provider can’t bar the IMEI for me. I contacted Apple again and they told me they do not have access to the system for IMEI blocking. When I worked at Orange many years ago we were able to block any IMEI we needed to. This is very annoying because someone could be out there using my phone which they haven’t paid for. I’m going to be out of pocket because I will now have to refund the person who purchased on eBay. Can anyone help?

@Vodafone Team
Can't understand what is going on at Customer Services when customers are still being given this incorrect information.
Providing a Vodafone SIM was last used in the phone, you won't have any problems getting the phone IMEI blacklisted.

Hi Ann
I don’t have Facebook or Twitter so my only option according to that link is to use live chat and be connected to a team that will probably be very unhelpful again. I really just want to get this sorted ASAP.

It looks like I can use the Facebook option as I still have a messenger account. I will see what happens. Thank you
