Why has my case been passed on to a debt collection agency when I agreed a pay date with a customer services representative? They want the money to be paid to them yet i still my debt with vodaphone still stands. So I am going to have to pay double?

Absolutely ridiculous considering I've made arrangements with your someone on the vodaphone team, no need to complicate it in such a snakey way.

Hi,

Sounds like some kind of crossover.

Id suggest to ring Vodafone on 191 for clarification and I'd speak to the Debt Collection Agency to advise them of the agreement. They should then pass this back to Vodafone.

Alternatively The Vodafone Community forum is monitored by Vodafone U.K. There are members of the Vodafone Tech Team who are available to respond and Help where they can. They have the Vodafone logo next to their name so a person knows they are officially Vodafone.

All posts are read by them.

Hang in there and I'm sure they'll be in touch.

Now this has happened a default also now maybe showing on your Credit File.

Hi @craigj12

It would depend if you made a 'promise to pay' within 30 days of the missed payments or a 6 month payment plan to give you some time.

The only time a debt is sold onto debt collectors is when the money owed is long overdue.  Vodafone would have tried to make contact to get the overdue amount paid before taking the final resort of selling the debt onto an agency.

Unfortunately, if the debt has been sold to a collection agency, it will be out of Vodafone's responsibility, the debt would be unable to be passed back to Vodafone and you would need to liaise direct with the agency.

Give the Team time to get to the thread, they may be able to find out what happened and the arrangement you had made to clear the overdue amount.

I was contacted by the Zinc Group as I was three weeks late with my payment - I paid the total amount outstanding to them over a week ago, unfortunately Vodafone have not yet received confirmation of my payment and have resctricted my services?

Customer services have asked me to go into a store with proof of payment as they have no way of accepting an email confirming that payment has been made?

@Kleinf72 So we're able to look into this further for you, I've sent you a private message with details on how to contact our specialist team.

I am having the same issue. I was six weeks late with my bill, paid in full the the zinc group over a week ago and vodafone are still saying they havent received payment. Help/advice would be appreciated.

Go back and speak to the Zinc Group directly.  Most third parties take the payment and send the money to creditors in a bulk payment, every couple of weeks for example.  You should be able to contact the Zinc Group and ask them to inform Vodafone that you have paid whilst they process the payment from them to Vodafone.
