So, in typical Vodafone fashion they have come out with a new feature and product that doesn’t work at launch - in-fact it does several unannounced and unauthorised credit checks.
So I received my brand new iPhone and Apple Watch today and I have to admit, they look fantastic, after opening the iPhone box and just seeing the magnificence that is the phone I am definitely happy with my purchase.
I open up the oddly packaged watch box and start to set it up, everything is fine except for when I got to the mobile data setup section- at first it looked promising a Vodafone log-in screen, “Awesome” I thought, so I logged in and all of a sudden it was asking me to add a subscription for £5 per month.. I thought this was strange as I was already paying for the watch now you’re trying to charge me more for a subscription, I knew it seems to be a mistake so I just glanced at the terms, it seemed normal just about linking them together so it made sense, I went ahead and clicked add subscription knowing that I would just call Vodafone and explain the situation if they tried to charge me more.
Anyway, it shows me a loading screen and I’m simply waiting for it to complete the link between my devices.
After a short while it went to a blank white screen and then... what’s this... I HAVE FAILED A CREDIT CHECK AND I HAVENT BEEN CHARGED?!?!?
So not only did it fail.. Vodafone has performed a credit check, without authorisation just to link it to my existing plan that I was already credit checked on?
Good one Vodafone, will be returning the watch and the device and leaving the network for good, this is the final straw, I’ve had nothing but trouble with you for 7 years and I’ve stuck by you, but you just cannot get anything right first time, EVER.
wondering if anyone else had this happen to them.

Hi everyone,
OP here, I can’t believe this issue is still effecting some people, I get emails almost daily about updates for this, it’s crazy to think it still hasn’t been sorted for everyone.
i can now finally say all of my issues are resolved and everything is working fine, you have to be persistent and contact the directors team, standard help from the tech team does not work.
Contact Nick Jeffries team and hopefully you will get I resolved like I did.

So today I called vodacrap for the 49th time, didn’t get cut off for a change. Went through the whole rickmorole as I do every day. Finally got put through to the floor manager. Advised 2nd line would contact me in 5 days..... 5 DAYS.!!!!!!!! I’ve waited a month already, been told every level of line support will call back but never have. He explained it can’t be fixed right now and they are working on it. They have just had the cheek to send me a bill for the service I’m not receiving. I have advised I will be cancelling the direct debit and not paying a penny for my phone or watch until it’s fixed. Absolute mick take. Looks like most of us are looking at least another 2 weeks min before it’s sorted. If not another month. What a joke way to go Vodacrap 😡😡

I don’t blame you. It’s horrendous. The biggest bunch of useless idiots across every single department. Fraudsters and con artists. Taking millions of pounds off people for a service they can’t nor want to provide. You’ll see this will go on for weeks and weeks more. I hate vodacrap so much I can’t express in words. I’m tied in on my phone contract so can’t even leave. Maybe I can sue for damages after my breakdown 😡😡

I’ll admit.... I worked for them for years till this year.... could not take the crap anymore. But, the network is perfect the customer service lets it down....
I both love and hate Vodafone

Vodacrap network is rubbish !! that’s why we’re all on here. It doesn’t work. The customer service is appalling and that’s fueling the problem. I really do hope vodacrap are hurt for this. Oh how I would love to see the vodacrap brand suffer. No more than they deserve !!!!!

Well all of a sudden my watch has started working. I've had all the same problems as everyone else on this forum. God knows how many phone calls/sessions on chat etc. Called 191 again on Wednesday to be told someone will call me in 7 days. I've had waiting and spinning wheel for 10 days now. Just happened to switch phone to flight mode (been doing that regularly) and the word waiting changed to activating. Then the carrier update message appeared. Looked at watch and the antenna changed from grey to white. Blimey. Then put phone back to flight mode and antenna went to green. Called wife and it worked perfectly. Yippee can't believe it.

Wow! Read these two messages and went to phone. Initially spun round with waiting message but after about three seconds screen reset itself and the message changed to loading plan. Stayed like that for about 15 seconds, and then a carrier settings pop up appeared but immediately disappeared.
then the plan appeared on the screen. went to watch and hey presto everything working! Turned phone off, disconnected watch from wi-if and sent an iMessage and all worked perfectly!
About to try a test call when I can find who’s awake from the family. cant do it with the missus - she’s flat out and snoring!

Mine does all that...but can’t make any calls on the watch with my phone off?
make sure watch is not connected via WiFi or Bluetooth?

Progress at last it appears the an appears on my watch and and the watch shows it has the data plan, unfortunately the watch shows the sim as un provisioned so still requires the phone to be connected

I seem to be having some movement with mine now. When I click “set up mobile data” it says “activating” with a wee wheel turning. Does this for a few seconds, then goes back to “set up mobile data!
