Unable to connect new Ultra 2 to existing Mobile Service

Having had my Ultra 2 replaced by Apple I am unable to connect my replacement to the mobile service. Almost a week since I had a call with Vodafone whereby I gave the whole eSIM number and was assured mobile service would transfer across in 24 hours, and 5+ days later still have nothing and see the message mobile connection transfer still in progress
