1471 service does not work anymore on Vodafone

Since the late 90s I always used *#147# to find out the last person who called your phone, even when your phone was off. This was great, it was free and could be used all over the world.

About 2 years ago this USSD code stopped working and we were told to call 1471. This was not as good as it didn't work in other countries and takes more time. 

However, I've just noticed that this service, 1471, doesn't seem to work on Vodafone now. Can you confirm this and is there any other option?

It does appear from past recent threads that that service has been discontinued by Vodafone and perhaps other networks too.

1471 has not been discontinued, it works perfectly.

The code *#147# to get the last number on the screen has been discontinued but you should still be able to get the last caller using 1471.

A further option would be the slam down notification option.  You will then receive a text from Vodafone notifying you of any callers who reached your voicemail and did not leave a message.

If you would be interested in the service, this can be enabled by following your voicemail settings on the link below.  As far as I know, it will be option 3.

I notice you mention you work abroad a lot, 1471 will only work in the UK.

It doesn't work for me and when I phoned them up about it they said it has been discontinued so a little confused. Also, I don't like having voicemail as I work abroad a lot so really miss the *#147# service

Whether 1471 works anymore depends on whether you're on Vodafone's newer billing system or the older one. The older one continues to work with 1471 but the newer one doesnt support this. If you've been a long time Vodafone customer on some kind of old plan it may still be working however if it doesn't you're probably just on the newer one.

You'd be best of just using the call history on your phone, or as another poster advised the slam down (bit intense) work perfectly by sending a text when you miss a call. You can set this up by calling 121.

That is not correct.  

1471 works perfectly for me and I am and have been on the Siebel system for some time now.  I am also on one of the newer tariffs.

That's strange, that's what Vodafone communicated to me ages ago. They said it's not available anymore on consumer siebel tariffs. 

It's not working on mine it hasn't done for ages, I wonder whats going on here.
